How Your Members Can Help
Many of your members are wondering how they can support you and the industry they love.
IHRSA has created a grassroots campaign you can share with your members so they can weigh-in with Congress.
What We Are Fighting For
Key areas in which we are seeking relief include but are not limited to the following:
- Federal coverage of business interruption insurance through a guarantee or direct payment.
- Adequate unemployment benefits coverage for club staff laid off due to club closings.
- Consideration for health insurance coverage for staff.
- Access to zero interest/low-interest loans to provide for capital to make payroll, pay the mortgage, etc.
- Provide flexibility in lending to facilitate forbearance of loans during the crisis.
SBA Disaster Loan
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has instituted a disaster loan program. The SBA is working with state Governors to provide targeted, low-interest loans to small businesses that have been severely impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides small businesses working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue.
These loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that a business cannot pay because of the impact of COVID-19. The interest rate is 3.75% for small businesses without credit available elsewhere.
Find the list of currently declared disaster areas here. Ensure that you click on the incident listed for your state to determine if your county is a declared disaster area. Then, visit the SBA disaster page to go to apply for the loan.
