Course Description:

  • The fitness community is evolving to address equity, diversity and inclusion to ensure all participants have equal access and feel welcomed. We as Exercise Professionals play a critical role in impacting the lives of our community, when we approach conversations with empathy, inclusive verbal and non-verbal language and understand the disparities that communities face across lines of difference. In this interactive session you will strengthen your skills through the practice of real life scenarios and discovery of implicit bias. Leave with an understanding of how social determinants of health and health disparities affect access to health and fitness resources. Strengthen your awareness to verbal and non-verbal forms of communication so that you can provide a diverse and inclusive community.
